Velo3D introduced that the Nationwide Institute for Aviation Analysis, NIAR, has bought a Sapphire 1MZ printer to develop performance-based qualification strategies of metallic 3D-printed elements for airframe purposes. The Sapphire 1MZ printer shall be configured to provide elements in Inconel 718, a sturdy nickel-based alloy that gives excessive corrosion, oxidation, and creep resistance at excessive temperatures, which is extensively utilized in aerospace purposes.
